Each program has slightly different application requirements.
Programs are open for applications at different times throughout the year. Please refer to the specific program page for details.
However, expressions of interest can be submitted year round. We will contact you when applications open.
Apply
You can apply online by:
- visiting the Careers in for Government website
- search for the program name
- complete application ensuring all required documentation is uploaded
- monitor your email for application progress updates.
Late applications are not accepted. Applications that are not completed or have missing documents may not be assessed.
Shortlisting
Applicants are reviewed and matched to one or more departments.
Each department undertakes their own shortlisting process.
It can be likely that an applicant is contacted by more than one department.
Interview
Shortlisted applicants will undertake an interview process with the potential department.
A typical interview is held face to face where possible or via video conference.
Some departments may require a pre-interview task and this will be advised when arranging the interview.
Outcome
Applicants will be notified of the outcome after agencies have completed their selection process.
Successful applicants will receive a phone call followed by a written offer of employment.
