The Graduate Development Program gave Sanjo a head start in his finance career after graduating.

At the Department of Corporate and Digital Development Sanjo has worked in Taxation Services, Budgets and Finance, Enterprise Project Services and Procurement Services. Sanjo just completed his final placement rotation and is soon start in an ongoing role with the Procurement Services team.

Sanjo experienced a variety of opportunities and skills development as a graduate including:

  • supporting the Emergency Response Team during COVID
  • exposure to various types of work across rotations
  • being mentored by and working with senior colleagues with diverse experience and skills
  • networking opportunities with senior professionals in the industry, within DCDD and other graduates
  • receiving regular feedback from clients, co-workers and supervisors.

Sanjo’s advice to future Graduate Program participants:

“Applying for the graduate program was one of the best decisions that I ever made. The opportunity to rotate through multiple business units helped me build on my academic success.

“The graduate training was structured, practical and more extensive than entry-level training opportunities generally available in most organisations.

“Take advantage of the training provided and ask many questions as you can of your mentors to learn more about their story.”
